# Permissions & Authentication

8XR platform uses the Google OAuth authorization process, which means you need to be authorized by Google and press a few buttons on our platform login screen at the top right corner, everything else should be done automatically. Congrats! Now you have an account on 8XR.

At the moment we have 3 basic roles:

* **User**, available for any user after successful authorization
* **Creator**, granted by Admin to User. Gives the ability to edit/create new scenes and upload assets.
* **Admin**, available only for platfrom management users.

Creators should be part of Workspace - this is the specific entity that helps unite Artis in one workgroup and work on multiple scenes together.

If you are absolutely new to the platform please make your first login and ask Admin to grant you access to a specific Workspace. You can do it in our Discord.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.8xr.io/permissions-and-authentication.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
